Latest Newsletter 23rd October 2009

On behalf of all of the staff and pupils, we wish to thank the parents and children who have given up their weekends to improve our environment. The school gardens and our beautiful dragon mural are looking fantastic.

Thank-you for the feedback comments received already, following last week’s newsletter. Your thoughts and comments are extremely valuable, whether they are positive comments about improvements now in place or further suggestions or concerns we can address. Please keep sending them in.

Year 6 had a wonderful residential trip to North Wales – they were a little late back last Friday due to traffic, but arrived home safe, happy and extremely tired! They will be providing us with some feedback after half term and a few photographs will hopefully be posted on to the website shortly.

With regard to the website, please accept our apologies for the regular promotion - a lot of work has gone into its construction and we are really excited about its potential to enhance our communication links. Information is constantly being updated, so keep logging on. We are also going to use the site to provide you with important news especially if school is closed due to unforeseen circumstances, e.g. snow. The information would be activated as soon as we confirm a closure and possibly before the local news station announces it and the Warwickshire County Council website is updated.

Wear Something Pink Day on Wednesday was covered by the Courier - a photographer took pictures of a small group of children, which we hope will appear in the paper. We raised almost £60.00. Thank-you for supporting us.

Letters are being sent home with regard to Learning Review Meetings (Parent-Teacher consultations). These will take place week commencing Monday 09th November 2009. It is essential that you return the slip to enable us to allocate an appointment for you. If you have not received the letter please contact the office who will supply you with one. The meeting will provide you with the opportunity to reflect on your child’s progress towards their first half term targets, which were reviewed with the Leadership Team during Pupil Progress Meetings this week, and to discuss your child’s new targets and celebrate their achievements.  Download full newsletter here

We have an exciting half term planned in our run up to Christmas. As a lead into our Anti- Bullying Week focusing on ‘Safeguarding Children In a Digital World’, we will begin with an E-Safety Assembly led by the Warwickshire ICT development service. This is a fun assembly for KS1 & KS2 and is intended to raise children’s awareness of the need to be safe online. This will be part of our Celebration Assembly on Friday 13th November 2009 at the slightly earlier time of 2.30pm and you are all welcome to attend.

Why we love Clapham Terrace

"The pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural skills are a real strength of the school as pupils have an excellent understanding of a wide range of cultures and faiths and can compare these to that of their own lives well." - Ofsted 2014

Fundraising at Clapham Terrace

We have a strong support network of staff and parents who are dedicated to raising extra funds to buy the things that school budgets can't stretch to.  From redesigning the school library to making over the playground the HSA (PTA) are always on the look out for new fundraising ideas.
