Newsletter 11th June 2010

11.06.2010

I hope you have all had a fantastic half term break and are ready for a very exciting and busy final half term. I have detailed the term dates for the next academic year on the reverse of the newsletter.

On Wednesday we were fortunate to have a visit from the ‘Chetwynd Chilli’s’ – a talented skipping group from Chetwynd Junior School in Nuneaton. They performed the most amazing skipping routines and then worked with our Y6 pupils to coach them in some new skipping & performance skills.

Yesterday our Y4 and Y5 pupils visited the Forest Hermitage Buddhist monastery near Warwick. They had a really interesting visit in very tranquil surroundings which stimulated some amazing thoughts and questions.

You will have noticed that the playground was re-surfaced during the holiday. We are just waiting for the football pitch markings to be added in the very near future. We also have a visitor – a mother duck who has made a cosy nest for her eggs underneath one of the seating areas. We have coned the area off to prevent her from being disturbed and hope to have a new family hatching in the very near future.  To download a full copy of the newsletter click here

“I like the games.  My favourite is the halving game.”  Marlon – Year 6 - Marlon Year 6

Fundraising at Clapham Terrace

We have a strong support network of staff and parents who are dedicated to raising extra funds to buy the things that school budgets can't stretch to.  From redesigning the school library to making over the playground the HSA (PTA) are always on the look out for new fundraising ideas.
