Comic Relief
What a fantastic response we had to Red Nose Day. Children and staff entered into the spirit of things and dressed up in a wide range of uniforms - we managed to spot a pilot, headteacher, nurses, policemen, builders, a paleontologist, numerous super heroes, doctors, vets, footballers, Brownies, a Roman Soldier, a chef, karate instructors, the list goes on and on…….
Children then entertained us by doing ‘something funny for money’ during Celebration Assembly – it was a fantastic way to round off the week, thank you for all of your support. The total raised was an amazing £163.67!

The Great Clapham Run
Another amazing event - the children completed a total of 1660 laps which equalled approximately 4 complete marathons! What an amazing achievement. If you haven’t yet sent in your sponsorship money then we look forward to receiving it soon. From the monies collected in so far, we've raised £1020! Prizes have been awarded to the 2 children who raised the most money and our congratulations go to Krishan and Belle who both managed to raise outstanding amounts of more than £100! The class who raised the most amount overall, when averaged per child, was Year 1 so enormous congratulations to them too and they will be receiving an extra fun-filled playtime session next week. Thank you for all of your support and enormous thanks to the children for their energy and enthusiasm for the event.

The Royal Wedding – Arts Week Celebration.
Arts Week will be split this year, beginning on Monday 11th April and finishing after the Easter Break on Thursday 28th April. We are looking for the following resources to assist us with our planned projects:
Year 1 would like cardboard boxes and tubes.
Year 2 would like any old newspapers
Year 6 also need cardboard – cereal boxes would be useful.

On Thursday 28th April we will be hosting a ‘street style’ lunch time party to celebrate the Royal Wedding and all children and staff will be provided with a buffet lunch consisting of a choice of sandwiches, cocktail sausages, pizza fingers, jacket potato wedges, fruit and vegetable sticks and a celebration ice-cream. This will be provided free of charge.

Rockets Annual General Meeting
Rockets are holding their AGM on Monday 28th March 2011 at 7.30pm, please come along and support our Breakfast and After School Club – they will be discussing ideas for future sustainability of the provision.

Headteacher Appointment
Applications have been received and governors will be shortlisting on Tuesday. The interview date is the 5th April and we will keep you updated as the process continues.  To download a full copy of this weeks newsletter click here

Why we love Clapham Terrace

Clapham Terrace is very sporty, we have an area of astro turf on our playground.  I've just been on a residential trip to Marle Hall in Wales.  We did lots of fun activities, my favourite was gorge scrambling - Ash Year 6

Fundraising at Clapham Terrace

We have a strong support network of staff and parents who are dedicated to raising extra funds to buy the things that school budgets can't stretch to.  From redesigning the school library to making over the playground the HSA (PTA) are always on the look out for new fundraising ideas.
