How to Get in touch

Reading Ambassadors

The Reading Ambassadors are children who love reading and who want to share this love with their peers. They help to plan whole school events such as World Book Day and book weeks. They also work hard to organise our ‘Own Books’ areas, outdoor reading shed and library. Own Books is a wonderful initiative where children can take books home to enjoy and keep if they’d like – it’s like a lovely free bookshop. This year the Reading Ambassadors are working on creating a book of books for each class and recommended reading lists. What a wonderfully busy and helpful group they are!

Our fantastic reading ambassadors have been helping to set up our outdoor reading shed.

At Clapham Terrace we are very fortunate to have our own Patron of Reading – Stephanie Clarkson (pictured left).  Stephanie is a children’s author who comes in regularly to work with all of our pupils; she has led assemblies and workshops with each class, and has worked closely with our reading ambassadors and CTCN journalists.

Book Swap

In our first term of 2022, the Reading Ambassadors teamed up with Miss O’Kelly to organise the 2nd annual whole school Book Swap.

We started by planning posters to advertise the event and shared the details with our classes.

Everyone was invited to bring in a book, or books, that they wished to swap or donate. This meant that every child could go home with one new book from the Book Swap.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event. Even though we were in our class bubbles, it felt exciting to go into the hall and see so many glorious books setup outside each classroom.
