Last Friday, school said goodbye to Ellen Spencer who has been cleaning and taking good care of Clapham Terrace for 29 years. It was wonderful to see so many old faces at Ellen’s party. We shall miss seeing her around the place but wish her a very happy retirement.
It has been brought to my attention by residents of Clapham Terrace that vehicles trying to park, turn around and negotiate the narrow street have caused accidental damage to residents’ parked cars. As a school we do attract increased traffic and need to consider ways to prevent congestion and potential damage. If you are travelling to the school by car please can I ask you to:
• park a short distance away and walk to the school entrance
• refrain from using the car park entrance to drop off children or to turn round
We have notified the council that the hedge is creating a problem visually and that vehicles parking close to the gates seriously restrict the ability to exit safely. We will keep you updated, but in the meantime appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
You should have received a new dinner menu this week. This menu starts on Monday 17th May 2010.
County Music Service provides music lessons to pupils in Years 3,4,5 and 6 during school hours. Currently they teach drums, violin, keyboard, brass and wood wind. If you would like your child to participate in lessons from September 2010 it is important that you let us know before the 18th May 2010 so that we can add your child to the register. Music lessons cost approximately £40 - £50 per term depending on numbers of children taking part.
