Newsletter 5th March 2010

09.03.2010

You should have now all received a copy of the final OFSTED report, if you have not received one please contact the office and we will be able to supply you with a copy. The report will be live on the Ofsted website at www.ofsted.gov.uk. We hope to hold our termly parents meeting towards the end of this term, when the staff and Governors will outline future developments for the school with particular reference to our Ofsted outcomes.

The final figure that we handed over to the Rotary Club, with regard to our Hats for Haiti Shelter Box appeal was an amazing £828.50. What a fantastic amount of money and a great effort. The money enabled us to purchase TWO Shelter Boxes. Thank you again for all of your support.

Ellen Spencer is a cleaner in our school who has worked with us for the last 29 years and she has now decided to retire at Easter. Ellen has been a devoted, hard working member of our cleaning team who has provided an excellent service to our children and school. We will be extremely sad to see Ellen leave and will shortly be organising a collection to acknowledge her long standing service to Clapham Terrace. This week we have also received some sad news with regard to Ellen’s health – unfortunately Ellen is currently in hospital, awaiting an operation and therefore we would like to send her our best wishes and hope she makes a speedy recovery.  To download a full copy of the newsletter click this link.

Why we love Clapham Terrace

At Clapham there are so many people to make friends with.  Everyone is really nice. - Venya in Year 5

Fundraising at Clapham Terrace

We have a strong support network of staff and parents who are dedicated to raising extra funds to buy the things that school budgets can't stretch to.  From redesigning the school library to making over the playground the HSA (PTA) are always on the look out for new fundraising ideas.
