Our annual Sports Morning proved a huge success, it was rather chilly but excitement of the event kept us warm. The results were very close with only 24 points between all the houses. Dragon and Unicorn shared first place, scoring 129 points each. Thank you to all of the parents who came and supported us.
The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum for the academic years 2013/2014,2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 to improve the provision of physical education (P.E) and sport in Primary Schools. This funding is being jointly provided by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sports., and will be allocated to Primary school Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and P.E for all their children. The sports funding can only be spent on sport and P.E provision in schools. Funding will be calculated by reference to the number of primary-aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11) as recorded in the annual schools census in January 2016.
Clapham’s Abigail in Year 5 lead the race throughout and secured FIRST place. Anna in Year 6 also qualified and ran a fantastic race coming 41st in Warwickshire.
Congratulations to both girls.
